Many special intensive workshops promise to teach the secrets of chikung in a comparably short time. What do you think of these?

There are no secrets of chikung practice which provide shortcuts - chikung is like any other sort of exercise or sports which requires you to spend a lot of time in the preparation and training of the fundamental skills and forces at different stages before you are qualified to play the game or to participate in a competition. If it takes an athlete many years of training and experience before he develops enough skills in the sport, it won't be possible a beginner chikung student to master all the secrets and finish their training in several days!

Throughout history there has not been a single person who was able to develop any type of chikung which could be learned and practiced in a short period. This can be explained by the practice of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Islam, Christianity or any other discipline. We won't  find any shortcuts to practice in the written records of these disciplines; rather, all practices for perfection stress the importance of the process of first building up the foundation, learning through suffering, and going deep into oneself to open up one  inner forces and wisdom, after which the development, suffering and recreating process cycle (depending on your basic quality and environment) will yield some achievement. If we understand all these phenomena, we won‘t believe in such shortcuts as a training program which provides only a feeling of the floating and movement of chi instead of the true purification charging and process. To progress in the practice of chikung, you need to know the basics and study for a long period of time with a teacher who can provide guidance and correction in your practice. So, the effect of a short term intensive workshop in chikung isn’t very significant in the long run.
