What do we need to do in our practice?

We basically need to let go of our ego, and then we can be more stable and can stop within a situation and not be carried away with the situation.  Then we can see there are many variables at work in the situation, so we have larger power in the situation.

You need to have a large amount of internal power in order to be stable.  This means you are clear about who you are, so you can be free and understand the interpersonal interactions in your life.  When this happens, your life/fortune can open up.  You are not plagued by desires, disappointments, or contradictions.  This means you are able to stay within yourself.

All of this requires you to combine three parts: your interior (nei), your exterior (wai), and your spirit (ling) so you have no longer have desires and expectations.  When this happens, your mind doesn't move.  Your original mind emerges to show you where your problems are.  Your problems do not arise from other people. Then you can see the real truth (daoli).  When this happens, your body, mind, and spirit can be combined and your 8 senses stopped, resulting in your mind being balanced. This lets you see clearly what needs to be done.  Otherwise, your mind is chaotic so you have no stability forces and you can't see what to do.

To achieve all this, it is important to practice without comparing yourself to others, or reflecting on your performance. Practice without language.  Practice without any greed, desire, or expectations.  If you exaggerate or move your mind as you practice, you will enter fire.  Practice without experience (that is, without relying on your past practice experiences.)  Our practice is a high level of practicing mind without a single thought
